Swami Shivananda Saraswati

Teaches Tantra Yoga in Rome since 1984. Today he is honorary secretary of the International Yoga Federation for Italy, member of the World Yoga Council, and of the Italian Yoga Schools Federation. He began to study and practise hatha yoga and thai chi-chuan in 1979 under the teacher Mario Verri. His deepest formation is due to his meeting in 1988 with Guru Siddha Puja Yogashiromani Swami Gitananda Maharaj, founder of the “Rishi Culture Ashtanga Yoga”. Yogacharya Shiva continued to study yoga for several years at the Gitananda Ashram managed by Swami Yogananda Giri. In 2000, from Pandit Nataraja Sastrikal of Pondicherry, he had the acknowledgment to practise pujas (rituals).

In year 2002 he became a student of Guruji Amritananda Natha Saraswati, being introduced to the Navavarana puja upasana, of the Dattatreya sampradaya, getting his blessing to spread this ancient knowledge accordingly with the holy tradition of the Sri Vidya (Sri chakra).  On the 8th of December 2007, by Swami Gurupriyananda Saraswati, Yogacharya Gurupriya Giri, president of the Yoga School Ananta Ashram International and of Italian  Yoga School Federation, he riceved the title of Swami with the celebration of puja

She began to study yoga in 1980, then she followed teacher Swami Shivananda in tantra yoga teaching. Together they opened their yoga school in Rome. She harmonically joined her professional training in pedagogical field with yoga practice, at first on herself, living motherhood experience as a moment of deep consciousness and spiritual growth. During those years she went deeper into the study of yoga applied to pregnancy, helping women who required her assistance, even at delivery time and teaching them the proper way of massaging their babies. She improved this knowledge by studing and exchanging experiences on the methods practised in India. She is member of the World Yoga Council and of the Italian Yoga Schools Federation.
